Our House

Alyssa and I are hoping to buy a house, actually its this house, its called the Orchard House. Our friend Abraham was going to buy it, but has decided to pass it on to us instead. The plan is that he'll live with us and help pay the utilities. Alyssa and I walked through the house a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved it. It's the oldest house in all of East Liberty, built in 1860. Its known as the Orchard House because it was where the farmer working on Mellon's Orchard supposedly lived. I guess most of Highland Park was an apple orchard way back in the day. So far we've had one problem, our contractor has been missing. This guy was recommended to us by everybody to lead the work that needs to be done on the house, but I haven't been able to get ahold of him. We really couldn't go forward with buying the house because the loan we are getting requires we have a contractor. To make a long story short, after three weeks of calling and leaving messages for our contractor, I learned that his cell phone was broken. Finally today he called back and we're now full steam ahead with purchasing our old haunted dream house.

Very exciting news about buying your first home - and the "community" aspect of having a friend live with you - very cool! May the Lord go before you and prepare the way!
