I'm usually torn by the kind of vacation I want to take. Alyssa and I love the beach, we often go to the Outer Banks. But we also love the quiet of the mountians. This year we went to Deep Creek Maryland, a big lake up in the mountains of Garrett county Maryland.

It was perfect for us this year. We rented a big old pontoon boat for the lake, and did a lot of relaxing in the sun. We also went hiking and saw some great waterfalls. It was our nephew, Gavin's, first hike, he loved the falls. I took him into one of the pools and falling water of the smaller falls, he thought it was great! While everyone else was at the house during the afternoons I usually went out on either my road bike or my mountain bike. The Trails and back roads of Garrett county are awesome for riding! My dad, who also rides, and I found some great roads with some huge hills!

Now I'm back at home, beginning my first week as a full time employee of The Open Door. I can't say how excited I am to be working with all the people of the Open Door and with BJ Woodworth. This week is his turn down at Deep Creek, hopefully he has as good a time as I did!
